Why sales, work, credential, and Game Is Serious

Why sales skill

Sales is a judgment job, not a script job.

Revenue moves when someone can qualify a messy account, find a champion who can sell without them, or stop a deal that is not real. AE, SDR, and CS all do that work under different win conditions. Companies hire for it because it is scarce under pressure. They waste a year when the pipeline was theatre and nobody could say so.

Work

Learning sales is one of the few crafts that still opens a door without a pedigree.

A first seat, a move from SDR to AE, a CS expand motion, a return after a gap: hiring managers still ask whether you can run the framework when the buyer is incomplete. A CV line is a claim. A scored room is something you can send. Game Is Serious does not promise a job. It gives you a public record of judgment in a deal.

Credential, not a mill

People want a certificate because hiring is noisy. The useful kind is evidence.

A mill sells the word certified after a quiz. We will not do that. Each qualifier is a work sample from a scored Deal IQ run. Anyone can open the public verifier. Add it to LinkedIn from that verify page. It is not a competence diploma, not LinkedIn Learning, and not a promise about your next live deal.

How Game Is Serious trains it

Deal IQ is the job in the deal. Team IQ is the manager system.

Deal IQ is the seat for AE, SDR, and CS: MEDDPICC, SPICED, or expand/renew with papers, rank, and live. Hard sales process and live conversation skill sit in the same room. Team IQ, with Revenue Command Center, is how a VP trains and assesses the team. It is not a second game and not a soft-skills twin. Recruiters use sales hiring.

A skill line is a claim. A room gives the claim somewhere to fail.

A CV can say MEDDPICC or MEDDIC. A quiz can test whether you remember the letters. Neither shows what you do when the champion is friendly but weak, procurement appears late, or the buyer’s number is still only your number.

The score is the room, not the letters.MEDDPICC qualifier

One sitting · a whole deal

The qualifier does not drop you into one scripted call.

You work the deal before you speak for it. The GIS world is our own sell-practice fiction, so the evidence is about your decisions in the assessed simulation, not a customer claim.

  1. 01

    Territory

Choose where to spend attention and state a plain business reason for the account.

Databricks over Palantir. Completions is the wrong scorecard.

  2. 02

    Research

Read the account signals, people, documents, and commercial pressure before you form a story.

Priya Nandakumar. Champion on paper, not yet in the room.

  3. 03

    Initiative

Map what is changing, who owns it, and why doing nothing may still win.

Deal-ready AE time. Completions stays the decoy metric.

  4. 04

    Pipeline judgment

Decide what deserves pursuit, what is missing, and where the deal should slow down or fold.

Advance Databricks. Repair or fold Palantir.

  5. 05

    Qualification

Build the eight MEDDPICC fields from actions and evidence, not CRM optimism.

Champion 41. Paper path still unnamed.

  6. 06

    Live

Take the account into an open buyer conversation where your preparation can hold or collapse.

Open buyer room. The next turn holds or folds the prep.

What the room watches

Eight distinct ways an enterprise deal can die.

The qualifier records judgment across the MEDDPICC field. It does not award a plate because you expanded the acronym.

Metrics

Completions is the decoy. Name value in units the buyer would use to decide.

Economic Buyer

Priya is friendly. The person who can say yes is still not in the room.

Decision Criteria

The customer scorecard is deal-ready AE time, not your enablement days.

Decision Process

Meetings, approvals, and sequence mapped before the forecast slips.

Paper Process

Legal, security, procurement after the verbal yes. Paper is still unnamed.

Identify Pain

The cost of doing nothing in the customer’s words, not interest treated as urgency.

Champion

Whether someone inside can sell when the AE is not in the room. Champion still 41.

Competition

Status quo and Palantir treated as real alternatives, not noise.

The score comes back as evidence you can inspect.

The board updates during the run. The debrief preserves the qualification state and coaching evidence, and names how the deal ended: status-quo drag, committee consensus, competitor pressure, paper clock, velocity. A clean early fold scores above a lucky pursue. The public plate is the shareable record from the completed run, not the full private working file.

What the plate means

A verifiable credential with a narrow, defensible claim.

The current plate verifies completion of a full scored MEDDPICC simulation. It is a work sample and a verifiable credential. It is deliberately not presented as a competence diploma or LinkedIn Learning course.

What it verifies

  • A full GIS AE Deal IQ simulation was completed.
  • The run produced a valid qualification score and evidence session.
  • The credential is tied to the named holder after sign-in.
  • The credential ID and issue date can be checked on a public URL.

What it does not claim

  • It is not a MEDDPICC certification and not a competence diploma.
  • It does not promise performance in the holder’s next real deal.
  • It is not a path-end certificate or a shareable step seal.
  • Game Is Serious does not auto-post it to LinkedIn and does not partner with LinkedIn Learning.

From practice to profile

Three decisions from the room to LinkedIn.

  1. 01

    Play as a guest

Enter MEDQ with a name and work the full GIS AE deal. No account is required to begin.

  2. 02

    Sign in after the run

Use Google sign-in when the debrief is ready. That ties the plate to a person rather than a browser.

  3. 03

    Publish deliberately

Open the public verifier, add it to LinkedIn, or send the URL with an application. Nothing is posted automatically.

Recruiters

Recruiters screen on a frozen work sample, not here.

This qualifier is candidate-owned: assessed simulation, public verifier, LinkedIn add-to-profile. It does not replace a recruiter screen, a later skill interview, references, or a role-specific hiring work sample.

Open sales hiring
  • Named holder and stable credential ID
  • Issue date and public verification status
  • MEDDPICC skill evidence carried by the plate
  • Methodology explaining what the room observed

Hiring managers who need a comparable screen should use Deal IQ sales hiring (HIRESDR, HIREAE, HIRECS). Later skill interviews stay with the employer. The open qualifier remains the job-seeker work sample.

Method, not identity

This is a serious sales simulation, not a points game.

Deal IQ is practice under buyer pressure: research, qualify, live. That is serious game design used as sales enablement and assessment. We do not rebrand the house as gamification software. Serious game design is how we build rooms. MEDDPICC, SPICED, and expand/renew are why a VP or a job seeker shows up.

Before you enter the room

What is a MEDDPICC Qualifier?

A MEDDPICC Qualifier is Game Is Serious’s assessed AE work sample. You complete a full Deal IQ run in room MEDQ, then may publish a verifiable credential (GIS-CM) you can add to LinkedIn. It is not a MEDDPICC certification and not a competence diploma.

Why does sales skill matter for jobs?

Hiring managers for AE seats still need proof you can qualify under pressure. Learning MEDDPICC in a scored room is a way to show that judgment when a CV line cannot. Game Is Serious does not promise a job. It gives you a public record of a completed simulation.

How does Game Is Serious make training and a credible credential easier?

You practice the whole deal in Deal IQ instead of a quiz. The MEDQ room scores MEDDPICC while you work. After the run you can publish a public verifier. Training and the credential are the same sitting. We do not auto-post to LinkedIn and we do not sell a diploma.

Is Deal IQ hard skills and Team IQ soft skills?

No. That split is neat and wrong. Deal IQ is the job in the deal: hard process and live skill together. Team IQ is the manager system for training and assessing the team. We do not rename them HardIQ or SoftIQ.

Can I share a GIS qualifier on LinkedIn?

Yes, after you publish. The public /verify page is the credibility link. From that page you can Add to LinkedIn profile (Licenses and certifications) with the verify URL. Game Is Serious does not partner with LinkedIn Learning and does not auto-post.

Is this a MEDDPICC certification?

No. It is a MEDDPICC qualifier from a completed assessed simulation. Game Is Serious presents it as a work sample and a verifiable credential, not as certification or a competence diploma.

Is this LinkedIn Learning or a competence diploma?

No. You may add the public verifier to LinkedIn’s Licenses and certifications section. Game Is Serious does not partner with LinkedIn Learning and does not issue a competence diploma.

Is this the same as a recruiter hiring screen?

No. This page is for job seekers. Recruiters and hiring managers screen on the sales hiring work sample (HIRESDR, HIREAE, HIRECS). Later skill interviews stay with the employer.

Do I need an account?

Not to begin. Guest play is allowed. Sign-in is required only when you publish the public plate so the record is tied to a person.

Is there a passing score?

The current bar is a completed full simulation with valid scored evidence. We do not advertise an invented mastery threshold.

Is this for SDRs and BDRs too?

This qualifier is built for the Account Executive seat and MEDDPICC. SDR and BDR use the SPICED qualifier at /spiced-qualifier (SPIQ, GIS-SP). There is no public SPICED qualifier on this page.

Is this for customer success too?

No. This page is the AE MEDDPICC qualifier. Account managers and customer success use the CSM Qualifier at /csm-qualifier (ERQ, GIS-ER). Expand, renew, or hold is the motion in that room, not a first-close clone.

What can I share with an application?

Share the public verifier URL or add the credential to the Licenses and certifications section of LinkedIn. The verifier does not require the reviewer to sign in.

Your turn

Put MEDDPICC on LinkedIn after you have used it in the room.

Set aside one uninterrupted sitting. Guest is fine. When the debrief is complete, sign in and decide whether the public plate belongs on your profile.
