Comparison · Decision simulation vs AI roleplay

Decision simulation vs AI sales roleplay

Both use AI to put a person in front of the rep. They grade different things. Roleplay grades the turn: tone, discovery questions, objection handling. A decision simulation grades the decision the turns led to, in a world where the friendly contact may own nothing and every touch costs.

Where roleplay alone falls short

  • A talking-head or avatar scores the talk track. Reset chat. Start roleplay. The manager often never sees the sandbox.
  • A rep can run a beautiful discovery call with the wrong person. Roleplay scores the call; the AE inherits nothing.
  • Turns are free. In a real week, attention, channel reputation, and account patience run out.
  • The outcome is the transcript score. There is no account state to grade the call against.
  • The scenario resets each session; nothing carries into a handoff, a debrief, or a manager review.

What a decision simulation adds

  • The people in the room are still AI, but the grade is deterministic and versioned. Klara explains; humans decide.
  • The SDR plays a week on a PACE board. A meeting booked with the friendly wrong contact scores negative.
  • The AE plays a deal whose outcome five forces resolve: status-quo drag, committee consensus, competitor pressure, paper clock, velocity.
  • The CSM reads five account rows before the call and the manager sets the pressure the room speaks in.
  • Every run ends in a manager-readable debrief with the call, its reasoning, and the state it was made in.
  • Our rehearsal door is that simulation for three seats: pick seat, account, and pressure, see the buying-group faces, preview the situation, then Enter. Evidence still lands in RCC.

See both in one place

The rehearsal door is how a player opens that room before tomorrow's meeting: /en/rehearse and /de/rehearse. A named-world decision simulation: faces then desk, cost per move, three seats, manager-visible debrief, not a talking-head roleplay you reset. Deal IQ uses AI for the room and deterministic scoring for the grade. Open a public sample debrief for any seat and read the call, the account state, and the rubric version on the record.

What we do not claim

We do not claim roleplay is useless. Conversation skill matters and roleplay tools train it. We claim it is a different unit of evidence from a decision under pressure, and that a manager reviewing a pipeline needs the second one.

Frequently asked questions

Does a decision simulation use AI?

Yes, for the people in the room and for evidence explanations. Not for the grade. The grade is deterministic with a rubric version on the record.

Can roleplay and decision simulation be used together?

Yes. Train the sentence in roleplay; test the judgment in a decision simulation. The debrief tells the manager which one to assign next.

Why would a booked meeting score negative?

Because the AE cannot work it. If the contact owns none of the budget, the meeting costs the AE a call and the account some patience. The PACE board says so at the moment of booking.

Do you have rehearsal, or only a join code?

Yes. A player opens /en/rehearse or /de/rehearse, picks seat, account, and pressure, and enters a named world. The manager still sees the debrief. That is our rehearsal. It is a named-world decision simulation: faces then desk, cost per move, three seats, manager-visible debrief, not a talking-head roleplay you reset.
